Football played a very important role for me from an early age, when I was 5 years old I played football for the first time with neighborhood children in Río Abajo. I learned quickly and played successfully for my youth club San Francisco FC. My mother supported me as best she could, at the age of 15, the Panamanian national team was looking for players, I applied and the coaches recognized my talent as a keeper in a very short time. It was a difficult moment as I was a very well trained centre-forward, but Angelo Williams, my goalkeeping coach, encouraged me and I learned quickly and I developed. At the age of 16 I played in the A national team, as a result I was allowed to take part in the CONCACAF W CHAMPIONSHIP for Panama, which I confirmed by winning the "Golden Glove" and being voted into the best eleven of the tournament.
